In no particular order…

-The best “Spider-Man” movie.

-As good as the original “Avengers.”

-Funnier than any comedy this year.

-Visually stunning.

-The best superhero movie of the year.

-Nah, let’s say the best one in a few years, actually

-Unbelievably well written.

-Just a touch guilty of ripping off “Overwatch’s” D.Va.

-The second superhero animated feature this year to use Nicolas Cage’s voice to perfect effect.

-Rivaled for sheer joy and cleverness only by “Teen Titans Go! To The Movies” (Did you see that? You should. I know you don’t watch the show, I don’t either, see it anyway)

-The second superhero movie to use Kendrick Lamar wonderfully.

-The first superhero movie to prominently feature a Chance The Rapper shout-out.

-Proof that John Mulaney is great in everything all the time.

-And also that for Mahershala Ali.

-And twice for Bryan Tyree Hill.

-And Chris Pine. And Shameik Moore. And Hailee Steinfeld. You know what? Just all of them.

-Proof that the “Spider-Man” film franchise has been pretty stupid to neglect Prowler for this long.

-The perfect length and yet, like all great movies, over way too soon.

-Full of feels.

-Like an even better “Lego Movie.”

-Probably imperfect in SOME way, but I struggle to think of how. No wait I got it: Kingpin’s forgettable. And some of the MacGuffin stuff was confusing and/or underexplained. I am really straining here, though, because I did not care about either of these things at all while I was watching the movie. I didn’t care about anything except watching more of the movie.

-Completely unlike any animated film I’ve ever seen. How did they… I seriously don’t understand what the process of making this was. It’s like seeing stop-motion for the first time, your brain can’t even process it.

-A surprisingly simple and nuanced story underneath all the chaos and silliness.

-The best weaponization of origin-story fatigue EVER.

-A gauntlet toss right at Deadpool’s forehead.

-Even better than its excellent trailers made it look.

-Worth your money and your time.
